Frequently asked questions
How AskLeya works, what it costs, and what it doesn't do yet.
What is AskLeya?
AskLeya is an AI chat assistant you add to any website with one line of code. It answers visitors from your own content, captures leads, and hands off to your team when needed — 24/7, in 50+ languages.
Do I need any coding skills to install it?
No. You paste a single <script> tag before your closing </body> tag. It works on WordPress, Shopify, Squarespace, Webflow, Wix, Framer, plain HTML and React/Next.js — no plugin or migration.
How does it avoid making things up?
It uses retrieval-augmented generation: for each question it finds the most relevant passages in your knowledge base and answers only from those. When it can’t find an answer, it offers to connect the visitor with your team instead of guessing.
What languages does it support?
Over 50. Keep your knowledge base in a single language; AskLeya understands each visitor’s question in their own language and replies in it — including right-to-left languages like Arabic.
How do I add my content?
Type entries in directly, or import automatically — paste a page URL or upload a PDF and AskLeya extracts and indexes the text for you. Update it anytime from the dashboard.
Is there a free plan?
Yes — start free, no credit card required. Every paid plan also comes with a 14-day free trial, so you can try the full thing before you're charged. Live human handoff is included on every plan, including Free. Upgrade as your conversations grow: paid plans add appointment booking and email lead alerts, and Pro adds custom personality and removes AskLeya branding from the widget. WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger are coming to Pro soon.
How is this different from a scripted chatbot?
A scripted bot follows a decision tree you have to build and maintain, so it only handles the paths someone anticipated. AskLeya reads your knowledge base and answers the question that was actually asked, in whatever wording and whatever language it arrives in. When it doesn't know, it says so and offers your team — rather than looping the visitor back to a menu.
Will it replace my team?
No, and it isn't meant to. It takes the repetitive questions — opening hours, prices, delivery, returns — so nobody on your team retypes the same answer for the hundredth time. Anything it can't answer, and anyone who asks for a person, comes to you. You keep the conversations that actually need judgement.
Can I step into a conversation myself?
Yes, on every plan including Free. The dashboard shows which conversations are happening right now, and you can take over any of them and reply as yourself — the visitor's chat switches across immediately. If nobody is at a screen, the assistant keeps answering instead of leaving them waiting, and your phone gets a notification so you can pick it up in a few minutes.
Do you use my data to train AI models?
No. Your knowledge base and your visitors' conversations are used to answer questions for your business and nothing else. We do not train models on them, and we do not sell them. The security page sets out exactly who processes what.
What happens if I run out of messages?
Your assistant does not vanish from your website. It tells the visitor it can't answer right now and shows your contact details and a short form, so you still get the lead rather than losing it. You can add a message pack at any time, or move up a plan — neither is urgent, because nothing breaks in the meantime.
Which channels does it work on?
Your website today — one line of code on any site, and it answers there in 50+ languages. WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger are built and in testing, and will open on Pro shortly. We would rather list them as coming than sell you something you can't switch on yet.
Still have a question? This site runs on AskLeya — ask it yourself.
